10k RGP (rolled gold plate) refers to a layer of 10 karat gold mechanically bonded to a stainless steel base. Popular in vintage watchmaking from the 1940s-1970s, this construction offered the warmth and look of gold with the added strength and corrosion resistance of a stainless steel core - a hallmark of quality watchmaking from this era.
